January 7 (Sat) 12:00pm Destination Baja

Event Date:
Saturday, January 7, 2017 - 12:00pm to 2:00pm

Laguna San Ignacio in Baja California is famous for whale watching, but is remote and difficult to access, except when flying a light airplane. SCFC Fly Out Group will fly there in on Jan 27th for a true adventure cross-country trip to this remote destination in Mexico.

Join SCFC in welcoming CFI and the trip organizer, Thomas Daniel as he describes this 2,000 nm round-trip cross-country flight.  We’ll hear about flight planning, border crossing operations and flying internationally in a light airplane. The adventure will span 3 ½ days and includes some added bonuses such as two dirt strips to practice soft field landings and landing at a class B airport. If you are considering taking a flight across the US border, you won’t want to miss out on this presentation.
